I'm trying to add images and change my logo and keep getting this:

Error: I can not write to this file. Please set the right user permissions on: /home/kdesigns/public_html/ecommerce/catalog//admin/oscommerce.gif

looks like oscommerce.gif is write protected - right click on it and in properties or chmod you should be able to change the write rules.

how do you upload files ?

with whatever you use you should be able to see the oscommerce.gif file in the relevant directory - probably /images/.

can you upload images to the image dir ?

if so another option is to upload your new logo calling it something other than oscommerce.gif and then change the path name in includes/header.php to call to the new image.

If your site is already on a server and not on your computer, get a good ftp program. Highlight the file you need to change permissions on right click, click on permissions and change to 777. You will need to add images for products in admin. You won't need to change the permissions on many files from this approach....
