muraduk
Hi, when i have installed the shopping cart on my server, it asks me to go to my admin page, when i click on the link i get the error as below... Warning: mysql_connect(): Too many connections in /home/bannersw/public_html/osCommerce/admin/includes/functions/database.php on line 19 Unable to connect to database server! Is there something i should be doing in the control panel regarding databases... Hope some OSCommerce gurus can help me here.. Murad
Chris Dunning
I suspect if you're getting that just from loading your admin, then your customers will get it on a regular basis from loading your store. Guest
This is not an osC related problem This means that there is to many connection at the server (space you rent from hosting provider) Ask your provider what is the ratio client/server The_Bear

David Chester
Warning: mysql_connect(): Access denied for user: 'bannersw_osc1@localhost' (Using password: YES) in /home/bannersw/public_html/osCommerce/admin/includes/functions/database.php on line 19Unable to connect to database server! I saw this once and got around it by not entering a password. If that doesn't work you probably just got your password wrong but I suspect it just doesn't have one. David Chester
Actually I've just tried to install osCommerce myself and I get this exact error. Are you trying to install in Windows per chance? I tried entering the username with no password but I get an error "Access denied for user "@%" to database "osCommerce" If I put the password in I get the same error but it puts the username in where it has "@%". Can anyone shed any light on this? David
Guest
you will need to reset the user to the database then make the respective change in your configure.php files. it is very easy to do, you can ask your host for help.

AlanR
Re-installing probably won't help. You need to figure out the problem. The best tutorial is this board. By far. Just chill out and read the board for a while, knowledge will seep in. Before you even realize it you will know quite a bit.
