jonworks
:( I've just spent the last 6 hours (4:30 am to 10:30am) going through the forums ... I'm using WS_ftp and have done a chmod 777 on every single folder and file (with the exception of config.php in the /includes directory) I've double checked my config.php and english/index.php files for path problems, and they are CORRECTLY pointing to the folder(s). I cannot upload banners, category or product pictures. THIS SEEMS TO BE AN ONGOING PROBLEM, but I haven't seen any detailed solutions. DOES ANYONE KNOW IF THIS IS SPECIFIC TO YAHOO HOSTING? And/or, does anyone have a fix? (without telling me to chmod ... done that!!!!) thanks, Jon
Guest
It is the other way around it is the 2 configure.php that you have to chmod to 777 before installation read the documentation HTH The_Bear
jonworks
FOUND THE PROBLEM: :D Yes, my permissions were set correctly - I did find that there is a slight misdirection in the documentation. The problem is that the documentation says PHP files have to be uploaded in ASCII format via FTP (which is TRUE) ... however that severely messes up the .GIF and .JPG files. Rather than using ASCII, it was better to use AUTO on the settings. Whether this problem is specific to Yahoo hosting or not, I have no way of determining. I know that I had to delete the "." in front of ".htaccess" and ".cvsignore" files - and that is specific to their hosting. My solution was to rewrite the images via FTP to their correct folders, while making my FTP program specifically use binary mode. that corrected it, and (knock on wood) so far I haven't had any more problems. :D :D
