Using USPS Methods 2.6 with Media Mail

Certain categories of my products are not allowed to be sent by Media Mail.

 

I would like some advice on how to remove Media Mail if at least one product in the order comes from a category that cannot be Media Mailed. The are two main categories, one contains (in its sub-categories) all products that can be Media Mailed, the other contains all products that cannot be Media Mailed.

 

For orders that mix Media Mailable and non-Media Mailable items I want to warn the customer and give him the option to check out with the order as is and without using Media Mail or the option to go back and segregate his order into two orders.

 

Any advice on how to do this would be very welcome.
