Avium
Hi guys, I've gotten a shared SSL installed for my store, but I've a question - where can I find the installation instructions for a SSL? I can't seem to locate such a file in the WIKI. Also, I'm seeing a number of problems associated with SSL and sessions (at the time of posting, I see 2 such posts on the first page of this forum). Would you advise be to install the SSL cert or not? I'm accepting Paypal, so by using a 3rd party merchant I know I don't really need a SSL, but it's mainly to give my customers a peace of mind. Any advice will be appreciated!
Avium
Any insight on this, guys? I recall seeing a SSL setup step-by-step once, but now I can't seem to find it. I'm using V2.2 MS1, if that's the question.
Guest
in catalouge->includes->configure.php set: https server addresss enable_ssl to ture https cookie domain https cookie path and that is it ! There should be no reason for ssl to cause any problems with your sessions. The only time you might encounter this is when you have installed a new contribution. Hope this helps Sam
Avium
Hi Sam, I can't seem to locate the following within the configure.php file: https cookie domain https cookie path I'm on MS1 V2.2, if that helps? When I enabled SSL without editing the 2 lines above (because I can't find them to edit), all the pictures on my website come out as 'broken'. Any advice on this? Also, my https URL is rather ugly - it shows up as 'https://servername.servernumber.com/~mystore'. Is there a way to hide it such that the URL comes up as 'https://www.mystore.com'? Speedy help is much appreciated!
Guest
like you say the url is ugly. if your going to use ssl i sugest buying a proper cert. I think that i paid ?20 for mine (GBP). as you have a third party payment proccess anyway you might as well ditch the ssl compleatly, as no sensitive information is being sent anyway. If you do wan't to use it regardless post your url and I'll let you know what setting you have wrong. Nimmit
Avium
Hi Sam, Yeah, my bad. I'm looking around at some SSL certs now, and will probably install one. The problem is that I'm missing the 2 lines as earlier mentioned, so whenever I log on after the SSL has been enabled, all my pictures come out as broken images  URL is http://fansdome.com if that helps!
