Check with your ISP first. Sometimes they can give you a better deal than you'll get elsewhere.

hi

im trying to find out abt digital certificates :(

my host doesnt have ssl only a shared secure folder.

so where can i buy one? (cheap)!

and how easy is it to impliment on an existing site?

this last question is important as i know nothing about them!

im a newbie with php and mysql too!

Always ask your hosting provider about dedicated ssl, even if you obtain the certificate elsewhere.

 

People have posted stories here about their host not being able to provision the ssl link. The site must have its own IP address for ssl to function and some providers just don't have any available.

Further to what I've said above your hosting service may want to charge more than you're currently paying because of the dedicated IP. In any case they're the ones who have to do the install.
