Andrew J Posted March 11, 2004 Posted March 11, 2004 I have some difficulties with the meaning of the followings: flat rate table rate best way Cheers Andrew
TerryK Posted March 14, 2004 Posted March 14, 2004 All of the phrases you posted are defined in the language file for each shipping method (/catalog/includes/languages/english/modules/shipping/) and can be changed to suit your needs. In my case, I use table rate for some of my regions, and zones for others. I have defined shipping as, for example: Overseas Air Mail (used table rate) Overseas Surface Mail (used table rate) US Air Mail (used table rate) Canada Post (used region-based zone shipping) Because mail within Canada (where I'm located) is significantly different from one coast to the other, I used a contribution to set up region-based zones. In it, I defined the west coast provinces with one weight-based formula, central provinces with a second, and the east coast with a third. Shipping to the US and overseas are pretty much the same regardless of which state or country I'm shipping to, so I used the table rate to set up my calculations for those.
