Guest
I'm using 2.2ms2 right "out of the box" - not a single modification. Can someone explain to me how the included UPS shipping module actually calculates the weight and shipping costs? Example - I placed in my cart the following test data items: 1 x Disciples: Sacred Lands 1 x Hewlett Packard LaserJet 1100Xi The weight of the Sacred Lands software is: 5.00 The weight of the Hewlett Packard LaserJet is: 45.00 When I go to checkout - it reads as follows: United Parcel Service (2 x 27.5lbs) - which equals 55 pounds? Where is it getting the extra 5 pounds? Second part of the question - where does this module actually pull the shipping costs from ? Is it real-time data from UPS?? Thanks in advance for your support. Ron -

Guest
Well if you haven't touched a thing as far as the configuration goes the max package weight is set to 50lbs by default which is why it is breaking it down into 2 packages. The total weight should actually be 56 lbs. since by default the tare weight is set at 3lbs. per package. Yes, the rates are pulled directly from UPS but you need to adjust things such as the tare weight, your origin zip code, commercial or residential, daily pick-up or customer drop-off to make the rates accurate for your particular store.
