I'm not sure if this has been done before. Anyway, for those who have been running their own osc sites for at least a year, what is your monthly net profit from the site? Since everyone can answer anonymously, hopefully the answers will be honest! ;)

Umm...maybe to get a feel for the level of success of others who are pursuing the same kind of business they are? This could be interesting and encouraging (or discouraging, as the case may be), don't you think? ;)

Unless you know what kind of business they are in, or how much they had to invest in advertising, I don't see how this is helpful.

For example, we typically spend about $500-$700 per month on advertising. That's not going to give the same kind of results as a site that spends only $100, or a site that spends $40000 a month. It's all relative.

That being said, I know of buisnesses from both ends of that spectrum that use OSCommerce, so some derivitive of it.

Yeah, I know a simple poll like this is limited in usefulness since there are so many variables. Too bad there isn't the ability to post more comprehensive questionnaires.

Still, at a minimum, it might be interesting too see the feedback.

Between my Database Programming career, running a small business, and tall of the OSC side work I get , I don't see how I'd ever have time.

That would be a great idea. Someone should write a detailed guide on how to setup a great osc site (e.g. OSC for Dummies") with marketing advice, etc. I bet it would sell like crazy.

You guys who are pulling in profit of $30k+ a month, care to mention what you're selling? ;)
