Making a 'clone' of my modded store

Recommended Posts

I have a modded OSC store that I would like to use for several other stores Im installing.

In real simple, step-by-step directions, whats the best way to 'import' an existing OSC store into a new one?

I would prefer NOT to have to FTP dozens of modded files to each new store if I could help it.

Id like to use PHP MyAdmin....again please explain...Im a newbie!

Thanks in advance!!

Just FTP the folder that has everything in it. In other words the file above catalog. Ftp it to your computer, and then up to the new site. I put everything in a file called ecom/ in it I have two files httpsdocs and httpdocs each having a copy of catalog and admin. on the upload to new site load to thr root directory and your in. Setup the configure.php files with the pathways. You will have to build the database on your own.

In this same regard when transferring an OSC website to a new server account the database backup itself can be installed there as well through Php MyAdmin.

Are there any tricks to this other than setting up the paths, etc in the configure.php files (catalog, and admin versions) -- ?

Thanks /mark

Let's see if I have this correct:

1) FTP the modded files back to my PC

2) Call the new folder 'Mod_Shop' or whatever name

3) FTP the folder 'Mod_Shop' to the new domain.

4) Go into PHPMyAdmin and 'Import' the existing database.

5) Update the 'config' files to reflect the database name and password.

Did I miss anything?

Thanks!
