Ok I am a noob at this, I uploaded the catalog, I started the install, made a connection to the db and now I get this.

New Installation

osCommerce Configuration

The following error has occurred:

The configuration files do not exist, or permission levels are not set.

Please perform the following actions:

cd /home/httpd/vhosts/clientspace.com/httpsdocs/catalog/includes/

touch configure.php

chmod 706 configure.php

cd /home/httpd/vhosts/clientspace.com/httpsdocs/catalog/admin/includes/

touch configure.php

chmod 706 configure.php

If chmod 706 does not work, please try chmod 777.

If you are running this installation procedure under a Microsoft Windows environment, try renaming the existing configuration file so a new file can be created.

ANY HELP WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED :)

Hi,

What you have to do is to connect via FTP to your web space, then go to

catalog/includes/configure.php single click on the file/ right click/ select CHMOD or properties and set the permissions to 775 or 777

do the same with catalog/admin/includes/ configure.php

If you use M$ then you need to change the properties to archive [ right click / properties]

hope this help you

I use WS FTP, I did a right click on the file name and got the chmod, it doesnt allow you to enter a number value, it has check boxes for R/W/E on owner, user, group :(, I selected all the boxes on all instances and still get the same error
