Guest
Firstly, I've noticed that some posts are not making it to the board. I posted this about 30 minutes ago, but it is not here. -------------------- Some customers have complained that Step 4 locks up and they cannot process payment. I am not using any payment gateways - it's all just osCommerce 2 MS 2. I haven't changed anything except added the following mods: card zapper osc affiliate multiple table shipping options I have changed the Sessions settings to allow AOL users to checkout, but it still occasionally freezes up their browser (all of them IE 6.x). The only thing set to "True" in Sessions is 'Prevent Spider Sessions.' There were no server outages this weekend, and I cannot replicate the problem on three different PCs and multiple test orders. The only things I can think of: 1 - Server time out - they took too long to review. 2 - Multiple orders at the same time stalled the process 3 - Gremlins Any known bugs of this nature I can look at and say 'that's my problem?' wizardsandwars
They probably make it here, but are being nuked by the forum admin. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- NOTE: As of Oct 2006, I'm not as active in this forum as I used to be, but I still work with osC quite a bit. If you have a question about any of my posts here, your best bet is to contact me though either Email or PM in my profile, and I'll be happy to help. Guest
speaking for myself, and i would bet that there are plenty others out there who feel the same, being negative about something just isnt what we want to deal with. i read some of the things, on my forums i would have blocked you in a heartbeat, ip address and all. so by properly wording things you can get lots accomplished. from the one which got deleted, why are you even asking questions, with what you said you were going to do? now on to the part you are asking, it could very well be something your host has changed in the httpd.conf or the php.ini file, etc. perhaps the thing to do is to check the server error and access logs, also turn on sql session logging in the admin section and monitor that for a day or two. careful with that one, it grows at a farily quick rate. Guest
Thank you for your help. I will look at those options and post my results. About negative postings, you must be referring to another post. It was not my intention to be 'negative,' so my apologies for any misunderstandings.
PetterK
Mibble, I tried to activate session logging but decided to turn it back off again, then my entire site went down, you can see what I mean Here :o Basically the warning is this: Warning: error_log(/var/log/www/tep/page_parse_time.log): failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /home/MYFOLDER/public_html/butikk/includes/functions/database.php on line 41 Tried to manually edit the db back (!) but the values were the same as before. Tried to change the /var/log/www/tep/page_parse_time.log to /home/MYFOLDER/public_html/tep/page_parse_time.log and created the file 'page_parse_time.log' but the error is still there. Please someone, what happened here? Live site - no fun! Petter - Arktisk Pudder
Guest
it could very well be something your host has changed in the httpd.conf or the php.ini file, etc. perhaps the thing to do is to check the server error and access logs, also turn on sql session logging in the admin section and monitor that for a day or two. careful with that one, it grows at a farily quick rate. Update: no changes to httpd.conf or php ini per my web host, and I discover that all of my error/access logs are purged at midnight every night. Another good reason to switch to a better host. I will switch on session logging, and hopefully I won't get the error PetterK received when I shut it off again. Will post updates to the thread in a couple of days. Guest
SQL Session logging: You mean the 'Store Page Parse Time' option under 'Logging?'
Guest
I haven't turned on sessions logging yet because no one responded to my last post. Also, I wasn't terribly secure about it after the previous post from Petterk. But I haven't had the problem in a couple of days. I will keep my eye on it and hopefully it will just disappear :)
PetterK
Bruce, Still not sure what happened, I had to ask my host to restore the previous days backup to solve the problem. I guess this applies here: If it works - don't fix it  Petter - Arktisk Pudder
