bloodshoteyes Posted March 6, 2004 Posted March 6, 2004 I don't know if anyone else has experienced any problems with customers using Internet Explorer 6.0 with all the wonderful critical updates Microsoft has put out. I have had four new customwers whom all had problems with Creating an Account, paying for an order with a Credit Card and subsequently even logging back in. I have used 6.0 since last year without problems, until I stupidly updated my XP with all the current and past critical updates Microsoft says I need for my system. Well, I'm here to tell you that is a load of bunk.. I have tried every conceavable configuration of my Internet Explorer to get it to work properly and the only solution was to remove all the KB prefixed updates from my system. After having done so my OSC works flawlessly as it did six months ago. But the problem is how do I configure my OSC so that my customers can use it as it was intended and I do not lose anymore sales. If anyone out there has had this problem and has any suggestions, PLEASE any and all would be appreciated.....
user99999999 Posted March 7, 2004 Posted March 7, 2004 The windows update thing has really gotten out of hand I had trouble logging in to your store. Basically I can login once per password, once logged out I have to request a new password to login again. It must be related to how your server because it doesnt happen on my server. Guest Posted March 7, 2004 Posted March 7, 2004 under admin, sessions, change Recreate Session to False - that seems to have fixed it for me. Jeff
vocasio Posted March 7, 2004 Posted March 7, 2004 This has been something going on for some time now. I have tried every suggestion so far with no luck. I think we need that SECTION soon if you cant make a true WORK arround that WORKS.
bloodshoteyes Posted March 7, 2004 Author Posted March 7, 2004 Actually the best one was from User99999999. The microsoft update the thread points to worked great. I eliminated update KB832894 and added the recommended update and I.E. 6.0 is working fine. Now all I have to do is create a pop_up warning window recommending my customers go to microsoft and load the update and remove KB832894,,,,, before attempting to open an account and purchase product. Thanks all I really appreciate the help.
