Hi,

Sorry for this begginers question. But where can I find a documentation about installation and functionnalities of OsCommerce ?

I didn't find it in the zip file I downloaded and I didn't find it on the web site.

Thanks for your help.

I had a look a the "install" doc that comes with the app and it is very scant in terms of detail.

Is there anything a bit more detailed? eg. something that goes thru each step of the installation process and discusses likely problems and how to fix them?

Theres not much that can go wrong with the install, as long as you have the correct details about your server/hosting.

If you do have any problems just ask on here :)

Look at the very upper, right hand corner of this page. See "Collaborative Documentation Effort"?

Ta Da! It takes you to http://wiki.oscommerce.com/Top

the installation instruction in that CDE area should really be included with the installer files. then this forum wouldn't be as clogged with basic questions like mine.

Ha! Then you'd not be learning all this stuff!! :P

When I first started messing around with osC this message board did not even exist. We had to track a mailing list day by day. I was as confused as anyone but a little patience goes a long way.

I think 'a little patience' is the understatement of the year, even WITH this message board.

But I do think I'd be even balder than I am now without it.

I agree with the "patience message". Thanks for your answers.

I installed OsCommerce yesterday for the first time and my first shop is running !

Thanks for your help.
