Switch to Currency on Country selected in billing

Recommended Posts

In Admin Config there is "Automatically switch to the language's currency when it is changed". What I need is Switch to Currency when the Countyr is selected in the Shopping process. For example when I shop as a US customer I get Dollars prices at the Confirm Payment Page. If I am a UK shopper then I am given UK prices in Pounds Sterling.

TIA

I'm still looking into how we can achieve this.

One hack around the system could be using the languages mode. You could make the customers select the flags for languages at some point in the shopping process. I should think you need the customer to select the flag right at the starte. Use this to change the currency.

E.g. I am selling in USD, GBP and EUR but in English throughout. I could use currency logos to replace flags. When the shooper selects the flag it will change the 'language/currency'. Copy the language directory English to my other language directories. Thus, I would have 3 payment options.

It's not an ideal system but it's the only one I have thought of so far. A dirty fix.

Hi guys - I brought this up several months back and there appears to be no easy answer. I ended up listing my catalog in C$ (easier due to the payment processor I'm using) and put a link to the XE.com currency converter defaulted to CAD -> USD. It's the simplest solution I could figure out without a lot of coding.

If anyone does do a mod or figures an easy way to do this, please post it.

Good luck!

I seems to me that using the Zone system would be a great way to deal with this issue.

Just like Shipping and Payment Modules.

We are a Canadian company with 90% of our customers in the US, a tiny percent from Europe, and the rest in Canada. I think this is a common situation for Canadian Companies.

I have been looking into how to get this to work for the last few days. I think this job is beyond my three months of experience with OSC.
