OsirisPhnx
Still working on this (just adding items to the catalog), but would like to hear comments on my site. All areas of design are open to critique (design, code, etc...) Osiris Enterprises Thanks in advance, Ray Charles [email protected]
NGR
Mmmmmm.... Well, what can I say - your use of contributions and the originality of your site is phenominal! Looks extremely original and unique! I especially like the way you've blended the grey into the info boxes to match your whole site! - I WANT A SITE LIKE YOURS!!! LOL (You told me to be brutal) Recomendations : Go over to the contributions sections, maybe add a couple to your site - unless you want your site to look the same as half the world! Will commend you though on your products - they do look nice and original, and the pictures are good! Try change your site to suite your products, and im sure you will do very well... Takes a while to get the hang of it - but when you do you will be amazed on how much can actually be changed!! Peace, Nick
burt
Brutal: Why bother posting when your site is standard Oscommerce from start to finish? Your logo is OK, a bit hard to read.
zoomer
When you have a picture that has a link to "enlarge" that picture PLEASE supply a picture that is actually larger than the original! Plain OSC sites are ugly - period.
OsirisPhnx
When you have a picture that has a link to "enlarge" that picture PLEASE supply a picture that is actually larger than the original! I tried searching and searching, but was unable to find any help on showing lager images when link is clicked. I could upload JUST the jpegs of my items, but then the catalog images will be too big. If you can point me in the right direction to using gifs for catalog images and jpegs for enlarged pictures it would be a great help. As for everyone else, I have started modding/hacking the look of my site and would like some input as to how I am doing and some pointers on what to work on. Any help would be appreciated. zoomer
Look for the Dynamic MoPics contrib. Allows for all kinds of thumbnails and large image combinations. Works great for me.
misohoni
Define the page widths say 600pxls, when loading the page shifts around. White text on a light pink doesn't work for me, use black. Perhaps make your own icons? You haven't really done much to the site I'm afraid, start playing around with the PHP! Check out my own Oscommerce page - www.misohoni.com/catalog/ Good luck with it! OsirisPhnx
Define the page widths say 600pxls, when loading the page shifts around. The reason for the page shifting around is due to the images having not been loaded yet. Thank you though for your contributions/input because at this point every little bit of input is going a long way. Oh, and to Zoomer, thanks for the contrib idea. I am in the process of implementing it now. As always, OsirisPhnx
charles
How about make the 'new products' box header match the rest of the box headers. Also, change 'OSCommerce' in the browser header to the name of your store Charles We stand in ignorance only for questions not asked. Plug up the leaks in your knowledge base and open up a flood of understanding.

OsirisPhnx
Hi folks.. Me again! Site has been updated for all to take a look. I am still doing some slight modifications (ie; new banner/logo, try to fix "new products" box to skin with the rest of the infoboxes, play with the layout a bit...) Feel free to hit me back about how good/bad I'm doing. By the way... Yes I know about the default buttons... creating some and uploading them soon. If anyone has any other ideas on what I need to work on, feel free to let me know. The site is LIVE so no test orders please. Guest
Site looks good.. Seems like everyone can get their images proportioned except for me. <_< Oh. Grey header on the blue... eh.. hard to read... you should make it a dark blue header or darker grey..
OsirisPhnx
Site looks good.. Seems like everyone can get their images proportioned except for me. <_< Oh. Grey header on the blue... eh.. hard to read... you should make it a dark blue header or darker grey.. What I found out for the resized images was, I uploaded the "enlarged" photo to my site and set all the "thumbnail" images to 100pxls in width (Admin -> Configure -> Images) and left the height field blank (deleted 80 and entered nothing). As for the grey header on blue, I have just notified the contrib's designer about that and hope to have it resolved soon. Thanks for the input. Virtual1
brutal - boring. Nothing but white empty spaces and no mods at all.
mpiscopo
When I first looked at your site I was impressed with the logo, nicely done. However, the first impression I had was that you are a services company. The logo and company name doesn't seem to fit with a retail business. It would be strange for me to say to my wife, "Honey, I'm running down to Osiris Enterprises to pick up a new fountain for the garden". You might want to consider adding a trading as name to your company and use that name for your store.
