adz32
Hi I am very much liking working with osCommerce, very logical, neat, and most of all complete!! Anyway, I am adapting it for a web hosting site, basically need to trim it down so that there is no shopping cart, just goes straight to checkout when user clicks on an item (which will be a hosting package) and there should be no shipping, just payment option... once payment is made, it will run the necessary script to create or update the user's account. Any help greatly appreciated!! Thanks Adam.
ozcsys
I have seen a few threads over the last couple of months on cutting out steps in the checkout process so you might want to try searching for them as they probably have the info you need. On another note if you are going to be selling hosting space you do not under any circumstances want to have the accounts you are selling be created automatically. You should stay in the loop and confirm all accounts before starting them. Spammers and other neferious types take advantage of accounts that can be started automatically and doing this will cause you nothing but trouble. The Knowledge Base is a wonderful thing. Do you have a problem? Have you checked out Common Problems? There are many very useful osC Contributions Are you having trouble with a installed contribution? Have you checked out the support thread found Here BACKUP BACKUP BACKUP!!! You did backup, right??
adz32
Thanks for the tip ... I am doing this at the clients wish, he wants it to be an automatic process... perhaps I could setup an email that gets sent to him, which contains the new customer account details, plus a link which when clicked will create the account. Cheers, Adam.
