Editing Shipping, Conditions & Privacy pages??

Guest

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I'm in the process of finishing my shop and I'm trying to edit the Shipping, Conditions & Privacy pages using the Admin tool, however, i cant see where i can type my own message, the text which appears on the page currently (Put here your Conditions of Use information.) etc is not in the code from what i can see.

Will i be able to past HTML straignt into the code using the admin tool? Where do i paste it?

Here is the standard un-edited code for one of the pages in question....

When you see this line

<td class="main"><?php echo TEXT_INFORMATION; ?></td>

That is where the file calls for your content. This is usually found in your includes/languages/english (or what lang you are using ) folder in a file of the same name. So in this case you would go to the conditions.php file in that folder and put in your content there. You should see the following lines

define('NAVBAR_TITLE', 'Conditions of Use');

define('HEADING_TITLE', 'Conditions of Use');

define('TEXT_INFORMATION', 'Put here your Conditions of Use information.');

Just replace the info between the ' ' and you are ready to go.

The Knowledge Base is a wonderful thing.

Err

Try the catalog/includes/languages/english/conditions.php

that file has this line

define('TEXT_INFORMATION', 'Put here your Conditions of Use information.');

this is the file you are looking for and yes you can place html between the ''

Make sure that you place a backslash (\) in front of any quotes or parentheses you put in your text.

For example...

define('TEXT_INFORMATION', 'We\'d be in trouble without this little backslash.');

It is generally best to use an ftp program such as ws_ftp to download the file you wish to edit as the online file manager can cause issues when you try to edit online one such issue is the removal of backslashes from the code which will cause a parse error

Hi all,

This is a great feature which I use.

I just wanted to add that it would be nice to see this mod use one table instead of needing a table for each individual page.

like one tabled called "information" instead of info_privacy, info_conditions, etc.
