chrisw Posted March 1, 2004 Posted March 1, 2004 Hi all, I am new to installing OsCommerce and seem to be having difficulty installing the shop on my server at www.LowOnInk.net. I get as far as step 7 (there was no step 6 for some reason) when I receive the following error messages and if you notice at the bottom a message at the bottom reads The configuration was successful! New Installation osCommerce Configuration Warning: fopen(/home/lowonink/public_html/catalog/admin/includes/configure.php): failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /home/lowonink/public_html/catalog/install/templates/pages/install_7.php on line 259 Warning: fputs(): supplied argument is not a valid stream resource in /home/lowonink/public_html/catalog/install/templates/pages/install_7.php on line 260 Warning: fclose(): supplied argument is not a valid stream resource in /home/lowonink/public_html/catalog/install/templates/pages/install_7.php on line 261 The configuration was successful! I then have 2 options. I can either select on the button that says catalog or the button that says administration tool. If I select the catalog button I am taken to URL http://www.lowonink.net/catalog/index.php however, if I click in the administration tool button I am taken to URL http://www.lowonink.net/catalog/admin/index.php but no page is displayed. I recall in the instructions I read to change the admin folder to something different so I have named it chrisadmin for now. If I then substitue the word admin with chrisadmin in the above URL the same happens. No page !!! I am hoping this isn't going to be a stressfull install as I am about ready to throw my pc out of the window asd it is !!! Please, please HELP !!! Thanks Chris
♥kymation Posted March 1, 2004 Posted March 1, 2004 The instructions are a bit vague at that point. You should change the name of the admin directory, but only after running the install program. Regards Jim See my profile for a list of my addons and ways to get support.
241 Posted March 1, 2004 Posted March 1, 2004 the admin is at the url you have posted as I have just been there. you can rename this directory to something else and change the admin/includes/configure.php all paths that say admin change to the name that you change the directory to. you should password protect the admin with a login contribution or an .htaccess file No longer giving free advice.
