The e-commerce.

Installation !

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

I am new to installing OsCommerce and seem to be having difficulty installing the shop on my server at www.LowOnInk.net.

I get as far as step 7 (there was no step 6 for some reason) when I receive the following error messages and if you notice at the bottom a message at the bottom reads The configuration was successful!

New Installation

osCommerce Configuration

Warning: fopen(/home/lowonink/public_html/catalog/admin/includes/configure.php): failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /home/lowonink/public_html/catalog/install/templates/pages/install_7.php on line 259

Warning: fputs(): supplied argument is not a valid stream resource in /home/lowonink/public_html/catalog/install/templates/pages/install_7.php on line 260

Warning: fclose(): supplied argument is not a valid stream resource in /home/lowonink/public_html/catalog/install/templates/pages/install_7.php on line 261

The configuration was successful!

I then have 2 options. I can either select on the button that says catalog or the button that says administration tool. If I select the catalog button I am taken to URL http://www.lowonink.net/catalog/index.php however, if I click in the administration tool button I am taken to URL http://www.lowonink.net/catalog/admin/index.php but no page is displayed. I recall in the instructions I read to change the admin folder to something different so I have named it chrisadmin for now. If I then substitue the word admin with chrisadmin in the above URL the same happens. No page !!!

I am hoping this isn't going to be a stressfull install as I am about ready to throw my pc out of the window asd it is !!!

Please, please HELP !!!

The instructions are a bit vague at that point. You should change the name of the admin directory, but only after running the install program.

the admin is at the url you have posted as I have just been there.

you can rename this directory to something else and change the admin/includes/configure.php all paths that say admin change to the name that you change the directory to.

you should password protect the admin with a login contribution or an .htaccess file
