PayPal orders processed but not added to orders in

Hi, I have osCommerce installed (just the past two days) and orders are going through PayPal fine, but are not appearing as orders in the customer details in the admin panel. All the customer details from when they sign up are there, but not the order - and there doesn't appear to be a manual way to add orders. Does anyone know if there is a fix for this? Test orders run via 'Pay By Cheque' work fine, orders are added under customer info in ad min panel. Many Thanks - Vger

Hi

Sounds like your customers have closed the paypal payment page and

not clicked continue button to return to your site

The order is only posted into your admin if they return to your site via the

thank you for your order page

Upgrade to the newest (paypal ipn) in the contributions section

Maybe a idea if you install the recover cart addon too its well handy and then

so you can see what they had in the basket when they checked out

Agh, I can see now what is happening (I think). Previously the non-oscommerce version of this site had simple payment buttons. I never initiated IPN with PayPal, which I think requires that you sign up for it with PayPal and give them certain details about your site. This would explain why orders are not being added to the customers account. I'm not sure that I want to do this because I use multiple e-mail addresses with this one PayPal account, and I think IPN will only link to one of them. So, maybe I'll have to look at adding them manually via the database. Many Thanks - any further thoughts/ideas would be appreciated - Rhea

I was going to post a new topic about this, but I think my question fits in perfectly here.

I have been looking at PayPal and they have a new feature where the customer, after completing the transaction, can then return to a page back on your site. This feature is called "AUTO RETURN".

However, I am a little confused as how to apply this to my PayPal account. The final page of a transaction is the checkout_success.php or checkout_confirmation.php page. If I submit the url of this page, would the items that the customer has purchased be carried through to this page ??

How does this function with PayPal work ?? Do I need to install a contribution for this Auto Return feature to work ??

I am a little lost with this one.

Any help or advice is greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Alex
