Newb... First Install of OScommerce..

Please help.. as i'm a newb to this whole php thing.

 

i've uploaded catalog / admin to the root folder.

 

After uploading for the normal installation my structure looks like this:

 

yourserver.com/catalog/install/

 

i typed in http://www.racingrev.com/catalog/install/

 

and clicked install (a new online store)

 

then it takes me to this page http://www.racingrev.com/catalog/install/install.php

 

I click continue with both check boxes check marked

 

then it takes me to this page http://www.racingrev.com/catalog/install/install.php?step=2

 

any clue on what i'm doing wrong?

 

HTTP Error 403.1 - Forbidden: Execute access is denied.

 

I'm with godaddy.com as my host. It supports php/asp if this helps...

I think you should call your hosting company (GoDaddy.com). And then ask them what is your database url or folder.... and then go to control panel and database to check if you should create a new database there.

Well aparently, I have sjust setup a database through the godaddy.com site and is now activated.

 

now what? I really have no idea whats next cuz they emailed me this

Okay well i'm finally up ..!

 

I was on the wrong server package so i switched it to apache/mysql and did some configuration with permissions and i'm good!
