no idea Posted February 26, 2004 Posted February 26, 2004 Like all things if you know its simple, I'am running XP pro, with apache , php added and mysql. Those items seem to be working fine. I installed OSCommerce to inetpub/root. Then using my browser I link to install.php so far ok. I click on both check boxes to create database and whatever and continued to enter localhost, username, password. page 2 displays top part of page only inicating importing, but its just hanging there. I checked my connection to mysql and it shows there is one with oscommerce. I created oscommerce datafile manually trying to see if that would help and unchecked first box, but only hung on step 7 insted. No errors are displayed just sits. I followed all the post on here and as of 3 days still stumped. Need help

eMerchant Posted February 26, 2004 Posted February 26, 2004 Just curious. Why install to inetpub/root? Why not install to the apache/htdocs directory and run at http://localhost/oscommerce/catalog/.........? Easier configuration and less learning curve.
