osCommerce

The e-commerce.

Three major problems

neurotoxic

Recommended Posts

I'm setting up osCommerce for a client. I've been through the whole installation process with no real problem, but now, it looks like I might have screw something up.

The website can be seen here: www.meneldur.com/catalog

It is not complete yet, but almost. I've obviously played a bit with the layout, but nothing too serious that could cause the problems I'm experiencing (I think not...)

1- After having created an account and logging in, I am randomly asked to log back in during the checkout process. It seems the session just ends by itself for no appearant reason.

2- During the unpredictable duration of my being logged in, if I add a product to my cart, I'm taken to My Cart page, but it says the cart is empty. Then, if I go back to the main page, I can see the product in my cart. If I try to add another product, the first one seems to disapear.

3- I've downloaded the French module from this site. But being unsatisfied with the translation, I did one myself, from the original English files. So basically, the filenames are exactly the same, as is the content of each file, but it appears in French instead of English. So everything should be fine (the language is properly installed)... Now the problem is, osCommerce keeps switching from one language to the other in the Catalog and Admin sections. This happens when I click on any link on the page.

Are these three problems related to each other? I've not been able to find anything relevant using the search feature....

Thank you! :)

HI there,

one suggesstion would be to make sure you either have default file for sessions set in the root dict or just set the following line in configure.php in catalog and admin to;

define('STORE_SESSIONS', 'mysql'); // leave empty '' for default handler or set to 'mysql'

Did you set the language in admin/localization????

LOL

Thank you very much, that solved everything!

That variable was actualy empty: "define('STORE_SESSIONS', 'mysql'); "

The language was set correctly though. So the three problems were all related to that line. Now everything's fine. Thanks a bunch!
