thebrat
We are rebuilding under a new IP address a site for a client who has an existing live, active site (at Yahoo). We've got a new host and the cart is installed, but when I try to go to admin to start putting the data together, admin keeps throwing me to the domain name instead of the IP address. I can substitute the IP address for the domain name and get to the control panel, but every time I click ANYTHING (including the word "edit"), it throws me back to a url with the domain name. AND the old domain is intercepting all of these "nonexistent" pages with an intercept page. (It's not a true redirect, because it just sits there with a link you would click to go to the OLD site.) All help will be greatly appreciated. I've spent the last 3 days searching for a decent cart. And I believe this will work except for the IP problem And I don't want to have to ask my client to buy another domain name... If there is a way to somehow default to the IP address (I'm expecting some brilliant, hopefully simple, solutions), The next question follows: What will I have to do when we're ready to go live to get everything back under the domain name???
Guest
Hi - I've just started playing with oscommerce today. Had a similar problem as I am trying to get it running on a mapped domain and no the domain that the server thinks is the true host. What foxed me is that there are two config files. Have a look at this thread, which is SSL related but may help: http://www.oscommerce.com/forums/index.php?sho...=0entry315603
