Guest
Hello, I have been looking at OSCommerce for a while now and have the general idea on how it is installed and managed. I have been developing web and multimedia for a number of year now and have experience in wide area of dev tools, but I have just been asked to do an e-com site for a mate. I have used Actinic in the past but it was a bit crap so I looked for a better soloution and OSCom seems great. Question : I have a IIS server at the moment running which I currently host my site on, is OSCommerce compatible with any PHP server or do you lot stick to Apache? or external hosting? Thanks for any replies. Craig... :D
Guest
Some people have osCommerce running quite happily on IIS - most run on Apache - most sites would be running on shared hosting. Matti
Guest
depending upon the speed of your communication line to your server, you may want to do external hosting. if the oscommerce site gets lots of hits, and you do not have a very fast line, then you will see some dragging. also, if you host it for your customer and your line goes down, may be tough explaining to the customer why that happened,
