Image box X

After finding the image on my local HD, is it right to have the red 'X' in all the image boxes? Am I doing something wrong? Or is it this:

NOTE: To upload or remove images, make sure the catalog/images directory has WRITE permission for the user that runs your Apache process (eg, nobody). This can be made by executing the following commands:

cd catalog

chmod -R nobody.nobody images

If so, how and where can I fix this?

Thanks in advance!

It is under IPowerweb's webhost software. The file permissions there say that catalog/images are set to 777. I'm sure that's not right.

What permission is set for the individual images

What are the path setings in your admin and catalog includes/configure.php files
