Guest Posted February 22, 2004 Posted February 22, 2004  Ok so i downloaded Oscommerce and then I downloaded BTS from the contributions. I need to know just generally how to change the look and feel of my website. I want to change the color, add my own banner, change at the bottom An eeweb.nl creation 2003 to what i want. Then i know how to add images, but then i want to change where to place the boxes, or add some other hypertexts to go to different links. I also wanted to know if STS is better to use since it is based on html, and can you edit it with Frontpage??? If anyone can help please!!!!! Is there like a basic tutorial to this besides the wiki one????
ozcsys Posted February 23, 2004 Posted February 23, 2004 If you want to change the colors you will need to make changes to the stylesheet. Both template systems seem to work pretty good the main differences as I see them is bts is a more powerful tool but it makes many more changes to your install making the install of other contributions a bit more problamatic and sts does not have quite as many tools but is good for changing the layout of your site and used with your stylesheet should be able to do what you want, because it makes fewer changes to existing files it makes it easier to add other contributions later on. If you are talking about using frontpage in wysiwyg mode I do not think that will really work very well with either of them. You will be able to see the template but without anything that is generated by the php code. The Knowledge Base is a wonderful thing. Do you have a problem? Have you checked out Common Problems? There are many very useful osC Contributions Are you having trouble with a installed contribution? Have you checked out the support thread found Here BACKUP BACKUP BACKUP!!! You did backup, right??
Guest Posted February 23, 2004 Posted February 23, 2004 Where is the stylesheet located???? And once you have BTS can you change to STS???
