Banners and banner manager

I didn't want to use the ad-banners in the footer but I did like the idea of having a random banner of ours appear at the top of each page, not for advertising or click-thru but just to add a bit of interest, and use the banner manager to keep track of which images we're using.

Through trial and error I managed to cannibalise the banner code out of the footer and place it in the header, but it expects a link on the image. I can make that our home page, but clicking on the banner launches a new browser window, which I don't want. I tried to use target="_self" but that didn't work and my php knowledge is negligible.

Any suggestions?

Cheers,

Ellie
