Using Admin function to change info

Hi Everyone,

I am in the process of moving my site to a new ISP. New ISP has set me up with OScommerce and MySQL. Excellent so far.

Logged into the cart admin page which lists among other things:

Customers, reports, customization etc. This is the page where I can make the specific changes to my store.

The problem is that all the links are http://www.mysite.com/shop/admin... . I need it to be http://ip address of new site/shop/admin ... . The reason is that our old website is still operating, and we can't take it down. Everytime I try to click on a link in the admin section I go to mysite.com, which correctly gives me an error message since the cart is not installed there.

If I delete this installation of the cart on my server, and install it again, but instead of using mysite.com, I use IP address of new site, can I go back and change it to mysite.com once the configuration is done?

why not copy your application to the new server, but for the database info point that to the old site. or better yet, transfer your database info to the new site, point the old site database info to the new site, and then when the changeover goes, all your data is there and up to date. all you have to do is make sure your new site configure.php files and code is right and seamless switchover,
