SoundsAlarming Posted February 20, 2004 Posted February 20, 2004 My store shop.sounds-alarming.co.uk/ is very slow to load, it takes at least 4 seconds after a link is clicked to start loading the next page. I have disabled all mods but with no success. The only thing I can think of that may be causing the problem is that one of my catagories has 2200 products. Is is possible that this could cause the whole store to slow? Any coments greatfully received.
1quicksi Posted February 20, 2004 Posted February 20, 2004 There are a zillion reasons why this might be happening and has been covered numerous times in threads. Search should be useful ;) Is this a Windows or Linux server? Is your server shared or dedicated? Is MySQL, Apache optimized? How are you on memory and cache? How are you connected to the net? Router over loaded if it is being shared? Are you on dial up or broad band when you test? How many hops are you from the server? Is your conenction optimized if on dial up (44k or better conenct) Are your graphics optimized? What is the server loading showing? I could go on and on.... Guest Posted February 20, 2004 Posted February 20, 2004 Off topic question, did you do all the modding to the page yourself or did you use a stylesheet? Mostly I'm interested in how you configed it to have the "more" buttons...
SoundsAlarming Posted February 20, 2004 Author Posted February 20, 2004 I used the STS contribution http://www.oscommerce.com/community/contributions,1524
