Product Notifications

How do I send Product Notifications to customers who have signed up for this feature? Do I actually send them an email or is it done automatically?

 

Where is the configuration found for this feature....admin section somewhere??

Do you know what the notification is based on?....will it send an email if the price changes, description is changed??? I don't completly understand how this works.

I know that it's in with the newsletter as part of the drop-down menu, so you can send a newsletter or a product notification so I'm assuming it's a manual thing.

 

I couldn't find a place to see the newsletter subscribers, (although when you send one it tells you how many subscribers you have) so I'm thinking there is not a way to see the product notification details either.

 

I may have disabled it at some point because I didn't feel I had any way of controlling it, so don't quote me on whether it's automatic or manual. I just wanted you to know where I found it in the admin.

 

If you discover anything new, please share, I'd love to use this as a marketing tool to encourage return shoppers.

Glo is correct. At some point I seem to have loaded up a contribution which converts it to html. Not sure if that is a good idea though. Until last month I used to bin all html e-mail automatically. I think you get a final chance to see how many subscribers you are sending it to before you hit 'send' again
