leebow
I don't normally work in php but was given the task of altering an existing one. I have the ftp username and passwords to access the files but I can't access the online Administration page to make changes. I thought I could get more accustomed by uploading my own trial OsCommerce site to play get aquainted with. I can view the Admin page here which seems fairly straight forward (although I can view the online store yet.) Could someone please point me in the right direction as to how I can find the right web address to access the administration page for this site that someone else has built? Tomcat
It depends on how your catalog has been set : The admin index is probably in ....home/public_http/catalog/admin/index.php Where your catalog is in ...home/public_http/catalog/index.php Hope this helps Franco P.S. Also ask who sold you the package !!! Outside links in signatures are not allowed!
ibandyop
Try from a web browser. http://your-domain-name.com/catalog/admin/index.php or http://your-domain-name.com/admin/index.php ibandyop
leebow
Adding 'admin/index.php' gets me to a secure area but I confronted with a prompt for a username a password. I am assuming the username is the same as that for ftp access but the password won't work. Can I find the password in one of the files on site? Thanks for the quick reply, Bryan
Guest
it is most likely an htaccess file, which from your server/host control panel (not from oscommerce) you should be able to change. however without looking at the screen, it is hard to say. it could also be an addon to the system admin area called admin access with levels, in which case you could edit the database and change the password and email address it responds to. is there a link on the screen what says 'Forgot Password' or something else?
