FastEddy Posted February 20, 2004 Posted February 20, 2004 I recently Changed from V1. to 2.2. I updated my database using the upgrade tool included in the Extras folder. Some weird goblins have invaded my program from that point. All my data is there but other parts of the program are acting strange. Example: The admin control panel is reverting back to the 1.x. I have a fairly busy site and am getting several fraudulent orders every day. I need to install counter measures that are only available for 2.X so its important to get this issue taken care of. Is there a way to extract my customer and product info and import them to the 2.2 stock database? Any other suggestions? Thanks, Ed.
FastEddy Posted February 20, 2004 Author Posted February 20, 2004 Any clues? This issue is pressing. I'm out over $1,200.00 from bad orders and need to get my data properly converted / moved to 2.2. Thanks.
Guest Posted February 20, 2004 Posted February 20, 2004 the best bet would have been to have a site running side by side, and copy the data to another database, upgrade that and see how things worked. then get everything working on the duplicate site (one the public doesnt see) and once running, do a final upgrade on your old data. it isnt the easiest thing to do but it is possible, as i just completed one.
FastEddy Posted February 20, 2004 Author Posted February 20, 2004 Originally I moved just the data to another server and upgraded the data then linked an installed V of 2.2 to the upgraded database. Now I am in the process of copying the entire working V1. site to another server and will get it up and running. (Not Live to the public) Q, If I download a new snapshot, does the install program give me an upgrade option to install over the old v 1. that is up and running. I have been using an auto installer from my web-host and it doesn't offer an upgrade option. Ill ASSUME I unzip or copy the new V to the same dir as my old one and run an install script. -Ed
