NetTechie Posted February 20, 2004 Posted February 20, 2004 Can I remove the copyright notices at the bottom that give osCommerce credit if I want to, so site visitors will not know what cart system I am using? I know some of the example sites did not have any hint that it was being done through osCommerce, so it must be ok somehow. I want to make it very pro on my site, no credit to anybody except my copyright notice for my design (I am a web designer). Is this possible? I will be redoing the entire template for osCommerce to fit my sites' theme, so no images etc from original package will be being used. However, the cart WILL BE powered by osCommerce, so would it be ok if I removed this credit? I don't like to do it, but on the other hand it won't fit into my design to have anything but a quick copyright notice, and it is more professional looking not to have links away from my site, since this site is for a client. Thanks for any help on this.
Guest Posted February 20, 2004 Posted February 20, 2004 from my understanding, as long as there is no discernible resemblance to oscommerce, on the catalog only this can be done. in the admin area this can not be done. also, inside the code you cant change any references to oscommerce (removing reference at the headers, etc). best to read the gpl license.
NetTechie Posted February 20, 2004 Author Posted February 20, 2004 admin area, that is only seen by the site admin, correct? I don't care if the client knows I used osCommerce, just not every customer coming to the site seeing that external link.
