How do you chmod the configure.php files?

Posted

If you have Control Panel you can access your File Manager, go to each of the files located at

catalog/includes/configure.php

admin/includes/configure.php

select the file, click on properties and there should be the default permissions, click to change it to 777.

You can also do it via ftp, connect to your site, go to those files and perform the CHMOD command (select the file, then do CHMOD 777).

Always remember to change permissions back after completing installation.

Go to the control panel of your hosting account, then select

catalog/includes/configure.php

admin/includes/configure.php

one at a time....

depending on how your file management interface is set up you should have the following options you can execute or some similar opts:

Show File

Delete File

Edit File

Change Permissions

Rename File

Copy File

Move File

select "change permissions" or "edit permission" ... permissions whatever

the default stting should be 644 - change it to 706 and the save and check the file again to make sure the new permission setting was accepted.

Then retry the osc setup.

If successful change file permissions back to 644.
