nettyft Posted February 19, 2004 Posted February 19, 2004 Hello! I have been searching for this info around and couldn't find anything. I have a huge and important question. My hosting company offer me unlimited subdomains. How can I have a store on each of them? I was thinking to create diferent databases on MySQL...my main store database on Sql name is catalog, what if I create other names and chage the folder name? Can anyone guide me on this? This has been a school for me.
nettyft Posted February 19, 2004 Author Posted February 19, 2004 I forgot to mention that what I want is each store owner have access to their respective Catalog/ Admin.
Egrys Posted February 20, 2004 Posted February 20, 2004 I've created several stores using different subdomains without any problem, each with their own database...
nettyft Posted February 21, 2004 Author Posted February 21, 2004 Thank You Ed: Can I ask you if there are many changes I have to make to the files if I use databases with diferent names? Like if Store A databare name is StoreA, store B is storeB..so and so...do I have to change something on the progrma files? Or can I run an istall on every subdomain nicelly without making some mayor changes?
user99999999 Posted February 21, 2004 Posted February 21, 2004 Each store would need its own database like you describe. So it matters how many databases, how much bandwith, diskspace and cpu resources your hosting company provides.
Guest Posted February 21, 2004 Posted February 21, 2004 you can also use a single database for all of them, there is a thread on how to do this
