Guest Posted February 18, 2004 Posted February 18, 2004 Hello There.. :D I hope that Anyone could give me a hand here. Ive installed OsCommerse on a PHP server before but this is my first on a Windows IIS server running PHP and Windows Mysql Database... _________________________- A test connection made to the database was NOT successful. The error message returned is: Unknown MySQL Server Host '192.xxx.xxx.xxx/sql2000' (11004) Please click on the Back button below to review your database server settings. If you require help with your database server settings, please consult your hosting company. _________________________- Any ideas ? Ive tried 192.xxx.xxx.xxx\sql2000 too.. Help me *Lol*
ibandyop Posted February 18, 2004 Posted February 18, 2004 Never tried with IIS before... Are you sure you MySql Server is running (service is ON) ? You should be able to telnet into it port 3306 I think. If you cannot telnet check your TCP/IP - remove NetBeui if there. Assuming sql2000 is your database name. ibandyop
Guest Posted February 18, 2004 Posted February 18, 2004 Just to try something really quick, in case you haven't yet, try connnecting to just the server, without the subfolder, and use the MSSQL port (I have no idea what that is).
Guest Posted February 18, 2004 Posted February 18, 2004 The server is up, its a Webhotel that i convinded installing PHP and they allready run microsoft SQL. They have lots of customers and ive got the task building a Webshop for one of their customers :) a Tatto studio... So.. Its a Win puter running IIS with Microsoft SQL and they have installed PHP for me on that server... only thing is that OsCommerse standard connects to a MySql Database not a Microsoft SQL... And i want it to connect to a Microsoft SQL Database... Any ideas still :D
Guest Posted February 18, 2004 Posted February 18, 2004 Well, you may want to talk to a moderator for this one actually. I am kinda thinking it needs to use MySQL. That is mentioned a lot, PHP and MySQL. I think it might have to be with that database software. Try asking The_Bear, hes very helpful. DF
Guest Posted February 18, 2004 Posted February 18, 2004 Nope The Bear told me taht it must have MYSQL and PHP.. RATS :) :D
Guest Posted February 18, 2004 Posted February 18, 2004 Thats kind of what I thought. I don't know if MySQL and MSSQL can coexist on a server or not. But, I would check into it, this is the best ecommerce system I have found yet with all things considered. This forum is the best technical support you could ever ask for. Just don't EVER go with MIVA. I used to swear by that company, I even somewhat used to work with them, but they overpriced their crap and lowered their service, and complicated their program. To hell with MIVA! hehe, thats my two cents. DF
