So, I have worked a (little) bit with PHP, but mostly just stayed away from it, so you may classify me as a NOOB. I thought it would be a good motivator to learn by installing osCommerce on my site just to play around with and learn.

Now tell me this: In the /includes/footer.php if I delete the

<?php echo strftime(DATE_FORMAT_LONG); ?>

block why does this KILL my entire footer??? The footer no longer renders on any pages...

And if I purposely break the link to the oscommerce.gif in the /includes/header.php why does this COMPLETELY KILL my page? Leaving only a white void in its place?

And WHY oh WHY if I reupload the backups of those files which I made just before playing with them, nothing changes???

I tried to avoid this by installing STS, but there was no visible change in the site (have I not "activated" it properly?) so I thought I would have my hand at the regular files... :angry: Oh! the frustration!
