I use yahoo hosting which allows you to create a TMP file that will show when errors happend and reasons they happend for. The error returned is 9... From address not in member domain. Message not sent. I CANNOT FOR THE LIFE OF ME FIGURE OUT WHY. Thanks

Just my opinion because I'm getting frustrated by the lack of response to what should be an easy solution since so many people use this... their emails MUST be working Mike
Guest Posted February 18, 2004 Posted February 18, 2004 usually what that message means is that smtp authorization is required to access the mail server and send mail, ie no relaying of mail allowed. if the member has a yahoo email address, then there is no problem. you need to ask yahoo how you can set your mail forms to allow smtp authorization. for the comment of people not answering, etc, this is a forum where the people who answer are offering their 'expertise' etc free of charge. most people will answer if they know, however those who use hosting services like yahoo, it is real tough to answer those, as not many use them. for advertising hosting services, forums, etc, that is against forum rules and i am sure they will deal with you in an appropriate manner. in other words, no matter what you do for work, no advertising of any sort in here. you didnt have an answer to it properly, so you should not have answered.

Nobody answers. They ask more questions usually and they are usually the same questions I have answered 12 times. I have linux hosting. it is set to "sendmail" it is set ti "lf" Sendmail is working on the server. The email address is working. oscommerce emails do not send. What am I doing wrong? HELP... I've been poking at this full time for 4 days and NOTHING of value except MORE questions from people and they are always the SAME questions even though I SAY what the settings are. now seriously, wouldn't that upset you? IT'S FRUSTRATING! What needs to be done to set up email? Somebody that has it working PLEASE contact me, even off the list if you want to keep it secret.
