jasyk34 Posted February 14, 2004 Posted February 14, 2004 I have searched the forums for a similar topic but cant seem to find a post. Hopefully someone can help. I have registered a domain name www.valecomputing.co.uk and set it up as a masked redirect to the files where my oscommerce is stored. This means that no matter what page the visitor is currently on "http://www.valecomputing.co.uk" will be displayed in the address bar. The only problem with this is that I cant log in or add any products to the shopping cart. It has something to do with configure.php. If I have HTTP_SERVER as http://www.valecomputing.co.uk then when I try to load the website the formatting is not right. If I have the url where oscommerce is stored in HTTP_SERVER then the site will load properly but I cant add items to the shopping cart of log in. Any ideas ??
AlanR Posted February 14, 2004 Posted February 14, 2004 This set-up will always give you many problems. Frame forwarding is a flimsy business. Why not run a showcase under http://www.valecomputing.co.uk then direct people to http://cgi.jjakerr.plus.com/catalog/ where the shop really lives. Local: Mac OS X 10.5.8 - Apache 2.2/php 5.3.0/MySQL 5.4.10 • Web Servers: Linux Tools: BBEdit, Coda, Versions (Subversion), Sequel Pro (db management)
tep Posted February 14, 2004 Posted February 14, 2004 With masked redirect, you are really using a frame with the store within that frame. Frames are a dying breed these days in websites. It should be avoided when using oscommerce.
