kotlicity
Hi, Can somebody help with changing the permission of files listed below? I tried by using FTP, and right clicked on file (www.mydomain.com/shop/catalog/includes/configure.php), but there is no option to change the permission. How would I be able to change the permission from chmond 706 to chmond 777? I'm using WS_FTP Pro. the situation is listed below: the configuration files do not exist, or permission levels are not set. Please perform the following actions: * cd /home/kotlicit/public_html/shop/catalog/includes/ * touch configure.php * chmod 706 configure.php * cd /home/kotlicit/public_html/shop/catalog/admin/includes/ * touch configure.php * chmod 706 configure.php If chmod 706 does not work, please try chmod 777. Thanks Navi
Guest
logon to your server via ftp or shell access if you have it. go to the folder containing the configure.php files, then if using ftp right click on the file, go to properties and set the permissions to rwx on all the settings, do this for both files. and when done installing, go back and set to 644 or rw-r--r--
kotlicity
hi, John, when I right click on "configuration.php", the property window pops up, but in the pop up window has only readable information such as size, location of the file, and attributes (-rw-r-r--), and "0K" and "HELP" buttons. There is no other option to change the permissions. Navi

There is no other option to change the permissions. Navi The permissions are the same as the attirbutes. So to set it to 777 you want to set (enable) all attributes. kotlicity
When I right click on file (www.domain.com/shop/catalog/includes/configure.php), window pops up, but it only can be read. It does say "attributes (-rw-r-r--)", but it can not be changed. there are only two option on pop up window. There are only two buttons right below that "OK" and "HELP". So there is no place where can I change the permissions. Please if someone knows anything about, let me know. Thanks Navi
Patricia
Hi, I would suggest you to use LeechFTP, then, set your ftp connection. In the remote windows, right click on the file, and choose "define attributes", then you can chmod Patricia

241
do you have a directory called install as it says in the warning message the path is public_html/shop/catalog/install so if you have a directory within your shop, catalog directory called install then it is this install directory that is to be deleted No longer giving free advice. Guest
CHMOD 777 is the same as "rw-rw-rw" or "rw, rw executable" depending on how you can view your files. Peter
