I am not sure that this is the best way or not but this is how I transferred a site to a new server.

1 backup database in admin

2 create database and install clean version of osC on new server

3 change name of both configuration files in site on local computer and upload to new server.

4 In admin section restore database using last backup.

Unless you have any contributions that have made changes to the configuration files everything should work at this point. If you have any changes you can just copy them to the new files and be good to go.

There might be an easier way but this worked for me and gave me no troubles at all.

The Knowledge Base is a wonderful thing.

Do you have a problem? Have you checked out Common Problems?

There are many very useful osC Contributions

Are you having trouble with a installed contribution? Have you checked out the support thread found Here

BACKUP BACKUP BACKUP!!! You did backup, right??
