meanpc
Please let me know what you think of: SewTinyShop It is not quite ready to go live yet, I am still working out some kinks. Would like some constructive criticism though. Thanks Lonnie
i2020
Hi You might want to think about getting rid of the Manufacturers Box above the What's New Box on the right, looks odd being empty. Or add yourself as a Manufacturer and then update your items to set you as the Manufacturer is another option, this makes the Main What's New page look a bit better as at the moment there is no Manufacturer. The header above the nav line is rather large in my opinion, smaller maybe nicer! i2020 "Everyone starts somewhere"
TerryK
Beautiful creations -- congrats! (Wish I'd known about it when my 'baby' was still a baby!) :) I like your colors and header, but agree with i2020 that it could be a bit smaller. You really need to work on optimizing your images to reduce the file sizes. On my dialup connection, it took a very long time for the site to load. When I looked at your image properties, many were in the 40-60K range, up to as high as 135K for the white slip dress image. You should be able to get these down to 10-15K each. The buttons at the top right in the header force a horizontal scroll on my screen with 800x600 resolution. If you'd like to see a screen shot, PM me with your Email address and I can send one along. You've got a good start -- best wishes for success as you move forward! meanpc
I'm actually doing the site for a friend of mine. Her husband volunteers time as a cub scout den leader, so it's a good trade. I'm thinking about using nothing but thumbnails for the small pictures (which would be around 5-10K apiece, then using HTML to insert bigger pictures once the visitor clicks on an item. It is strange how OSC creates the thumbnails by just resizing the picture, meaning that the file size is still the same. I know there are contributions which allow you to upload multiple pictures/thumbnails, but I am afraid that the version I am using is not able to use most of the contributions. I figured out that I am not using the latest version, and I am worried about compatibility. Does anyone know how hard it is to upgrade? I would like to, but I don't want to lose the work that has been done already. Thanks
