kotlicity
Does anybody know what should I do at this Step? New Installation osCommerce Configuration The following error has occurred: The configuration files do not exist, or permission levels are not set. Please perform the following actions: * cd /home/kotlicit/public_html/shop/catalog/includes/ * touch configure.php * chmod 706 configure.php * cd /home/kotlicit/public_html/shop/catalog/admin/includes/ * touch configure.php * chmod 706 configure.php If chmod 706 does not work, please try chmod 777. If you are running this installation procedure under a Microsoft Windows environment, try renaming the existing configuration file so a new file can be created. I HAVE XP PROF. INSTALLED ON MY COMPUTER. DOES IT MEAN I HAVE TO RENAME THE CONFIGURATION? WHERE CAN I FIND THAT FILE? THANKS Navi
jwds
You could try this. Go into my computer navigate to the file/folder that is giving you the problem. Now right click the file/folder and check the properties make sure that it is not read only. See how ya go with that. ozcsys
If you are installing this on a server then you need to use your ftp program to change the configuration files to 777 so that the installation program can write to them and add the needed information. The Knowledge Base is a wonderful thing. Do you have a problem? Have you checked out Common Problems? There are many very useful osC Contributions Are you having trouble with a installed contribution? Have you checked out the support thread found Here BACKUP BACKUP BACKUP!!! You did backup, right?? Guest
you need to go to the location where you have your includes folder for the main catalog and also the admin/includes. do this with an ftp program. then select the file you need to change, right click on it and go to properties and set it at rwxrwxrwx (777). after installation, then set it to rw-r--r-- (644) for both. kotlicity
Hi, John, I tried to change in FTP mode, but had no luck. I'm using WS_FTP Prof. , when I right clicked for properties on "public_html/shop/catalog/include/configure.php" and "public_html/shop/catalog/admin/include/configure.php" it only shows the name of the files, size, and "attribute: -rw-r--r--", there is no option to change anything.
