I get this message:

osCommerce has been added successfully

Don`t forget to set permissions on the "admin" directory using Web protect (Quick Access INFO) to restrict access to osCommerce configuration.

But when I get to Admin, I cannot see Web Protect, what do I do??

I also get a message telling to delete my installation directory, I am unable to do so cos they tell me to set permissions, how do i do that?

Please Help!!! Thanks in Advance.

The first 3 things to do after a successful install are these:

  • 1. Password protect your admin directory. The easiest way to do this is to use cpanel on your host, if you have it.
  • 2. Delete or move your install directory. This will be located at the same level as your admin, includes, images, etc...
  • 3. Set your permissions for includes/configure.php.

Hi Kevin,

Thanks for your advice, I know I definitely did Step 2.

I'm not too sure if I did Step 1! I went to my cpanel on my host but cannot seem to find any admin directory, could it be named differently? Does it vary from host to host? I'm using www.xlinternet.com.sg

I still cannot figure out how to set the permissions. Am I suppossed to download something somewhere in order to do that?

I'm totally new to this and have no programming knowledge whatsoever.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks in advance!
