Sejo
I have to move my entire OSC shop to a new server. I will also get a new domain. I have taken backup of the database and all the files on my current server. What files do I have to edit to make this go smooth? Do I have to do any changes in my sql. file? Short: Move currentdomain.com to a new server under the newdomain.com. Hope there is a easy solution to this as I have spent months figuring how to make an OSC shop. Guest
I *think* that you'd just have to modify catalog/admin/includes/configure.php and catalog/includes/configure.php . -jared
Sejo
This is my current catalog/includes/configure file (it works, OSC autosetup on server). What do I have to change? <?php /* $Id: configure.php,v 1.14 2003/07/09 01:15:48 hpdl Exp $ osCommerce, Open Source E-Commerce Solutions http://www.oscommerce.com Copyright © 2003 osCommerce Released under the GNU General Public License */ // Define the webserver and path parameters // * DIR_FS_* = Filesystem directories (local/physical) // * DIR_WS_* = Webserver directories (virtual/URL) define('HTTP_SERVER', ''); // eg, http://localhost - should not be empty for productive servers define('HTTPS_SERVER', ''); // eg, https://localhost - should not be empty for productive servers define('ENABLE_SSL', false); // secure webserver for checkout procedure? define('HTTP_COOKIE_DOMAIN', ''); define('HTTPS_COOKIE_DOMAIN', ''); define('HTTP_COOKIE_PATH', ''); define('HTTPS_COOKIE_PATH', ''); define('DIR_WS_HTTP_CATALOG', '/catalog/'); define('DIR_WS_HTTPS_CATALOG', '/catalog/'); define('DIR_WS_IMAGES', 'images/'); define('DIR_WS_ICONS', DIR_WS_IMAGES . Sejo
Found some topics here about this and did following changes to my catalog/included/configure.php file. But everything is still pointing to the old webstore domain? <?php /* osCommerce, Open Source E-Commerce Solutions http://www.oscommerce.com Copyright ? 2003 osCommerce Released under the GNU General Public License */ // Define the webserver and path parameters // * DIR_FS_* = Filesystem directories (local/physical) // * DIR_WS_* = Webserver directories (virtual/URL) define('HTTP_SERVER', 'http://shop.com'); // eg, http://localhost - should not be empty for productive servers define('HTTPS_SERVER', ''); // eg, https://localhost - should not be empty for productive servers define('ENABLE_SSL', false); // secure webserver for checkout procedure? define('HTTP_COOKIE_DOMAIN', 'shop.com'); define('HTTPS_COOKIE_DOMAIN', ''); define('HTTP_COOKIE_PATH', '/'); define('HTTPS_COOKIE_PATH', ''); define('DIR_WS_HTTP_CATALOG', '/catalog/'); define('DIR_WS_HTTPS_CATALOG', '/catalog/'); define('DIR_WS_IMAGES', 'images/'); define('DIR_WS_ICONS', DIR_WS_IMAGES . Guest
are you sure that define('HTTP_SERVER', 'http://shop.com'); is right? Is your website really http://shop.com? make sure that that's correct. If that's correct, and mysql.hosted.ser.net is really the DNS name of the server hosting your SQL database, then you're probably ready to go. -jared
Sejo
I just used these shop.com and some selfmade servername up in the posting. I use the right one in my configure.php. But nothing helps.
Sejo
Any suggestion to solve a smooth transfer from one server, domain name to another server and domain name. The servers are identically.
