Admin Installation

Hello all,

I am very disappointed with the admin installation so far. I have had to configure my configure.php manually and found entire referenceds to variables making up the paths missing. This had lead to me having to slowly piece things together and I am still getting errors about the languages files. Has anyone got an error with their languages pack installation, namely not being able to find the english.php file when it is there. I appreciate any help. :(

Hi,

There are only two ways I see the Admin not being auto configured, if you did not set permissions correctly [ in this case you should have received warnings ] or if you changed the name or location of the admin folder.

You can find the English .php by going

catalog>includes>languages>english.php

any further help give us a shout and we will see you through OK.

no, you should nothave to create anything for the install.

Why don't you try to install again. just upload the install folder to your web space and do it all again. If you have already worked on your database then back it up first. If you need me to walk you through e-mail me, and I will be only to happy.

Thanks NIc but this would be the third time I have reinstalled for that reason and have had the same problems. It seems to me to be the paths in the admin configure.php file. All of the errors I am getting are about files not being found and they are there so it's the paths that are all screwed up. For instance I am getting an error in admin application.php for the logger file at a point where it would expect to read the logger.php but the link seems to be looking in the catalog folders when the file is in the admin folders
