FIMBLE
I doubt very much if the script is old! More like the database is either set up incorrectly or, the incorrect user name is being used. netmaster
Cpanel and PHP Myadmin solutions: Pre installation: Use PHP Myadmin: 1. Create a database 2. Import the file oscommerc.sql to the DB. Use button ?location to your textfile?. Then use ?GO? Installation: 1. Use your browser and go to your server/catalog/install 2. Unselect import a DB 3. Fill in your information about DB etc. Note you shall use your Cpanel admin password and username. Not your DB Myadmin password and username. netmaster
My Webb Hotel use Cpanel. This is my Webb administration login account. To create DB there I use Mysql admin in Cpanel. So I use Mysql admin to import Oscommerc.sql file and create a DB (eshop) name. Pre installation (log in to your Cpanel admin account) 1. Open Mysql in Cpanel (If you have this system) 2. Open (your new created eshop DB) and go to SQL (query) 3. Import the file oscommerc.sql to the DB. Use button ?location to your textfile?. Then use ?GO?. This file can bee in your own PC at home. This file is in oscommerce-2.2ms2 zip file. (unzipped on your PC) 4. Now you have the files in your DB (eshop). Installation In my case to reach DB in installation mode you must use Cpanel admin login (username and password). After installation you can use /www.your_webb_address/catalog/admin 1. Use your browser and go to your server(www.your_webb_address) /catalog/install 2. Unselect import a DB (you have already created in Mysql) 3. Fill in your information about DB etc. Note you shall use your Cpanel admin password and username. Not your DB Myadmin password and username. Guest
I have the same installation problem as the member who started this thread. In your reply above you said: "1. (unzipped on your PC)" I have been unable to locate this file on my PC. Is there somewhere that I can download it?? Thanks for your time keeweelad

Guest
Hi Jan; Thank you for such a prompt reply - I appreciate that. I have previously downloaded oscommere-2.2ms2.zip and that has been unzipped successfully. Is it your advice that I download the complete package again? keeweelad

The error message returned is: Access denied for user: '[email protected]' (Using password: YES) Please click on the Back button below to review your database server settings.
