airuma
This is not completely OSCommerce related, but I was wondering if anyone can point me in the right direction. I need to protect my website images from being downloaded (right click not allowed), and I have no idea how to do that. Any suggestions? I sell a few art prints, and they are all copyrighted, and shouldn't be downloaded without permission. Thanks for the help!
Mark Evans
You can disable right click using javascript.. that will stop the novice user but falls flat on its face if javascript is disabled in the customers browser. The only other way is to either give your website images a watermark using photoshop or something similar. Guest
I'd recommend watermarks as anything else such as javascript is easily disabled and one can also go directly to the image by looking at the source. Without a watermarkk even the most elegant solution could be bypassed by doing printscreen and cropping the image. if you would like to see the JavaScript I use to prevent right clicks you can view the source at www.infrapics.com, however it does not work on all browsers (such as on Macs). Graveyard666
I fear the same problem for some custom images, is it possible to make them a flash (.swf) file instead of .jpg with a watermark?
airuma
They all have watermarks :) And copyright information too. Maybe I can just stick with the old "low resolution" solution... prints come out aweful looking if you try to reproduce them from a low resolution image. Thanks anyway B)
