Adding background images

Recommended Posts

I want to add a background image to the left hand side of my pages, where column left is. And I want ti to be ONLY behind column left...I don;t want it tiling across the page. I thought it would be an easy process to simply add the background attribute to the <td> cell holding column_left.php, but I am using a heavily modded oscommerce package...and I can't seem to get the background image to show up.

Is anyone else using a hevily modded site who has achieved this...or alternately, does anyone know where I can get some free oscommerce templates that I could play around with?

Any help/tips/pointers/links/suggestions/comments would be appreciated.

Thanks.

(This is not for my wifes site as contained in the WWW link below...this is for another site I am working on...can be viewed here[caution:: R18 content!])

OK...see...here's my problem. I am using a loaded contribution from another site. I am not allowed to mention which one as some people here consider it a fork...even though it is not, it still uses the base oscommerce script, just comes with a lot of contribs pre-installed.

Basically...I am lazy and know diddly-squat about programming.

To use the sts template contrib, would require manually changing all the necessary files, and theres quite a few changes, creating an html template to use, and I don't want something plain-jane, but do not have the skills to make something flashily fancy so thres all those image files to make, making the template page itself, yadda yadda yadda.

I just thought there HAD to be an easier way to do this. After all...all I want to do is add a background behind column_left. Surely that cannot be THAT hard!!!!

(Obviously it would be that hard, or I would not be asking...but someone must know where I can easily make this change...)
